For many people if you ask them to describe a spiritual experience that stands out in their minds they would talk about something that happened, not in a building, but up a mountain or in the woods or even in their garden. There is a deep connection between being close to nature and being close to God.

Recognising this we are, as the Church of England parishes of Edstaston, Fauls, Prees, Tilstock, Whitchurch and Whixall (the Shropshire North Six group of parishes), starting something which we are calling the North Shropshire Mossy Church.

The aim of Mossy Church is to help people deepen those connections between the natural world and the Christian faith and to provide space and opportunity for people of all ages to encounter God through his creation. We will meet approximately monthly, usually at Brown Moss Nature Reserve for a mixture of activities, reflections on the Bible, space to prayerfully explore the reserve, and a shared meal of bread and soup to finish.

Humans and dogs of all ages are welcome!  please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and something to sit on if you’d like.

For more information or if you’d like to join the planning team please contact Rich Clarkson on (01948)258137.
